Good Sunday morning to you where ever you are on this April 5th in 2020. Most likely, you are sheltering in place and abiding to CDC guidelines. Me, I keep looking for joy, happiness, light and it’s there. Hubby and I have been able to check out so many great musical acts that we may have never had a chance to see live before. It really has been a positive effect to a negative situation. Hmmm…sounds like a good lyric… Oh yeah, I haven’t been able to drive since 2016 so I am limited to where I can go as Hubby is the one that does all the driving. Anyhow, we don’t get out much. Also, since my surgery, long car rides are not the easiest so I don’t push the issue like I used to. So, this last few weeks I have gotten to watch some great performances from the comfort of my couch, my bed, in front of my computer and in my patio. Jenny and Taco have done a little moshing and some stage dive dives from the couch. Truly magical. I have even listened as I gardened and as I danced, I guess you can call it dancing, in front of my computer. Thank you to all of you performers that are doing this! Thank you for shining your heart lights so brightly! Also, thank you to all the business and organizations here in the Coachella Valley that despite feeling the effects of this crisis, are donating and feeding the first responders and grocery workers so that they may continue in this battle. Yes, it is a battle and if everyone pulls together we can make a difference in how this virus affects the lives of each and every one of us because as of today, even if you have not tested positive for Covid-19 you have been affected.
Quick note, thank you for the kind suggestions to the Fool and 420 music lists. Sadly, I could not add Bob Marley’s Ganja Gun to the Spotify list but did add another version of it that has a sample of the Bob Marley tune. This was a suggestion from a new friend that I have met on WP from Indonesia! I will not embarrass him or anyone else, unless they want me to. Cause I will like a proud Grama! Oh yeah, I have not created a Fool list on Spotify but with all this time on my hands I just might. New additions to the Fools list come and these are from a local music blogger in the Coachella Valley and again I will not embarrass him either unless given permission but I will add his additions to the list and here they are:
- Poor Little Fool – Ricky Nelson
- She’s A Fool – Leslie Gore
- Fool’s Gold – Fitz & the Tantrums
- What a Fool Believes – The Doobie Brothers
- Fool For Love – Lord Huron
- Fool – Dan Luke & the Raid
Yesterday, I got out my camera and did what I am good at, being an ass, I mean, being goofy. No offense to donkeys. I had written in a previous post about my Grama Kush pipe dreams. That is all they are for right now. The website was actually used to sell my homemade candles and shirts. It should be back up soon. I read over the post and thought, “Geez, I was really on one.” It is that month and really, we have no excuse not to partake in little celebrating. After all, in 1986, teenage me never could have imagined having pot and alcohol delivered to my door along with gourmet food or Jack ‘n the Box Tacos! O-M-G-Strings!!! We are being told to stay home and not go anywhere, like we are grounded, but with good shit. Internet, video games, porn! Ha Ha! Just making sure you are awake! Come on people, what could be better?
Oh, before you say what you are thinking, staying at home saves lives, like the people that are working at hospitals and grocery stores. Okay, it’s just me being selfish. Hubby works out there everyday at a grocery store in Coachella Valley and he is missing the thing that could help him the most in the battle, lymph nodes. I pray that God, Yahweh, Jesus, Buddha, Allah or who ever or how many ever God or God’s there are to watch over him and everyone that are out there working. He was doing well at shielding me from the outside world by keeping me preoccupied and reminding me to not buy into the hype. However, his grocery buying has changed and that scared me a little as he is doing it more now as opposed to waiting till we ran out of everything. So, yeah, I will keep trying my best to be Suzy Sunshine.
I will add a short story titled “Confessions of Serial Dater” in a couple hours. Just finishing up the edits. Back in 1990 I took Creative Writing at Citrus College in Glendora. Karl Williams was my teacher. He was such a cool cat. Very English. Very studious and worldly. He used to give us an exercise to write a short story in 15 minutes. Most of the time he would give us a subject or idea to write about or interpret. So, I wrote Confessions in the same manner, so if you choose to check it out later, please remember this. Recently, I found this poem I wrote about the moon that I found looking for photos recently. I think this poem was published in a journal for that college. This poem was written in 1990. Here it is. I jazzed it up a bit with the photo.
Thank you for stopping by and hope I gave you something to read or edit, cause I am sure there are many typos and grammatical errors. Have fun out there, it’s okay, really. Hugs.
