Hi-de-ho and good morning neighbors! Welcome to all that have stopped by in the past week! Hello UAE, Canada, Indonesia, France, Czech Republic, Nigeria, Denmark, Netherlands, Jamaica,Nepal, Romania, Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Australia, India….USA! Hey friends, thanks for stopping by, really. It makes the world seem not so big. It reminds me of kindergarten. First day of school was scary. I was bigger, taller and heavy than most kids and a few teachers, really. My K-Teacher had me partner with a girl named Vena from Thailand. English was her second language and I talked non-stop. I can see why the teacher teamed us up. She actually went on to master the English language better than I did and last I heard she became a physician. Anyhow, back then at Beardslee Elementary School in Duarte, CA, us kids didn’t know racial division or Red versus Blue. The only parties that we were worried about were that the ones that we didn’t get invited to. Okay, so that was my worry. Back then we were all the same, we were kids. We played tag, we drank out of each others pop bottles, we shared each others sandwiches and took turns trying to find out how many licks it took to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop. I guess those days of yesteryear may never come back but wouldn’t it be nice? I’ll have to tell my grand kids about those days some day. The stories our kids are going to tell and the pictures they will be able to share with their kid and grand kids. I would have loved to have had the technology back in the day to have captured my Dad doing the soft shoe down Aisle 5 in Mike’s Food or the occasional SBD release, and quick, walk away so that one of us girls would get the blame for the offending odor. Yes, my Dad was a joker. Tik Tok and IG missed a true gem in him.
Also, thank you for sharing all that each of you out there, do. I know I mention it often, and I will continue to do so. I am liking all the stories, photos and music and the recipes! Sometimes, I am not able to sit for long and can read while I am in bed or on the couch with my feet up. I have tried to get to know an old friend, Tele Vision, her and I don’t seem to know each other quite as well as we used to, or maybe we know each other to well. SVU, this means you. It seems that Bruce Springsteen was right back then in 1992 when he sang 57 channels (and nothing on). So, I have saved recipes to try, stories that I cut and paste and translated, so I can print out and read here and there for the next two weeks. Finally, and thankfully, Hubby is getting a much needed rest as he is an “essential worker”. No, he is not on quarantine, but a scheduled break. We are almost at the end of what the Surgeon General said would the worst week on the Eve of Easter Sunday. The reason I am stocking up is this time of year is a hard one for people with chronic pain. I can feel my hip socket at the moment very intimately. I would like to add, to any of my fellow Cauda Equina Syndrome people, I know you might think it is a load of hooey when you are told to lose a few pounds as it will help with pain. I just started taking Topirimate for seizures and weight loss, and have lost 12 lbs in the last week, really. Even with all the waking and baking. What a difference. I am not condoning taking medication for weight loss, just try losing a few pounds. Yes, my hips still hurt, but I can walk and stand longer. So, far, still not taking prescribed narcotics.
If you follow me on IG I have been posting random shots from past road trips and such. It’s been fun for me and Hubby to remember and look at some of the videos. We really have been lucky and have seen some talented entertainers and seen some spectacular landscapes. A few years ago, my girlfriend Angel pointed out the IG stories are like a cool history to look back at later. So, I have been posting more lately as (I know this sounds morbid) I just gave my children my FB rights when I die. They will have control of my social media. So knowing this, when and if they look at my IG stories, hopefully it will be a fun way for them to see how I lived in the last part of my life and get to know a little more about me. It really is a cool idea that she had. So, thanks girlfriend, for the idea!
To all of you where ever you are and how ever you are spending tomorrow may you smile and laugh. Think good thoughts and sing out loud. Hugs.
Well, for now, have a blessed and peaceful rest of the day. Smile.
