Hey ya’ll! Good morning! It’s Thursday July 9, 2020. I have been taking a break from many things lately like people. My children are aware that I have stepped away from FB as I needed a break and you know something, it has been glorious! Please I am not ignoring any one person, really. It just got to be too much for even me who had to take a (required) anger management course in my life. Anyhow, I restarted my guitar lessons and I got the first part of Put Your Records On by Corrine Bailey Ray, well okay, so it’s just the A chord strumming and it is just that one string (laughing) but still! My brain is getting it. “…three little birds sat on my window and they told me…hmmm hmmm…” oh yeah… It really does take me a little longer to get things. If you follow me on IG I posted me practicing the G chord yesterday morning. No worries, not fishing for followers as I have mentioned, really I only post to my stories for my kids so they know I am okay and occasionally I post something I have whipped up in the kitchen with hopes that it will bait them into coming home to eat! Sticky chicken coming soon kids, just sayin’…and salsa is always brewing. Also, I haven’t picked up my camera since our last road trip, but have been writing. My brain has been in overdrive. I have knocked out a few song lyric ideas, the reason behind me wanting to learn guitar, most likely. This morning, I wrote this poem in 5 minutes, not sure if it could turn into a song but I can see the direction it could go in. Kind of punky and happy is what I am thinking with a sarcastic tone. Oh yeah, I have also been feeling a little artsy as well. I also did the art work behind the poem. I hate the thought of using someone else’s thought’s or ideas, word’s or pictures or artwork, to get my point across. Yeah, I get it, sometimes I do refer to a song or quote but I make sure to give credit to the person that made the statement or created the art. It is never okay to steal it and it make it your own, just my opinion. Anyhow, here are my words of rhyme and probably not reason to most.
What would you write if you were given 5 minutes to write? A poem? A short story (Very short story!) Draw a picture? Write a song?
EXPOSED

Well, it is Thursday and yeah. Have a fabulous day out there where ever you are. I was going to end this with some thoughtful sentiment but I think we need or maybe I need a little Freddie Mercury and David Bowie to release some of this built up pressure that all of us is feeling, what say you and press play. You know you wanna…Listen to Freddie….repeat after him….
Stand up! Clap those hands! Snap those fingers!
Mmm num ba de
Dum bum ba be
Doo buh dum ba beh beh
Clap those hands, that’s right. No one ever did anything bad while they were clapping there hands…just sayin’. Cheers and have a lovely day.
Peek-a-boo
Red and blue
I see you and you and you
Living our
Alternate lives
Like a negative
Two stops to the right
Posing
And
Posturing
Overexposing
Feigned bravery overshadowed by
Real courage
That is
Maybe shining too bright
Still they wanna fuss and fight
With mass produced words
Unchecked
And thoughts that arenβt even their own
Black and white
Re-imagined and re-touched
What is real?
What is fake?
Two parts to every picture.
Where is the civility in this constant war of words?
No love?
Only hate?
While loose lips sink ships.
Idle hands pointing fingers
Clicking and exposing
Clear pictures
For all to view
What will their eyes seeβ¦

I started using FB in 2007. At first it was great. It seemed private because not too many people using it. But it turned into a mess when FB launched online games like Poker or Mafia Wars. In 2010 or 2011 I lost interest and then rarely logged in. Later last year or earlier this year, I deactivated my account. And it feels amazing. π I did that too to my other social media accounts. π

I have been off a week. Not lying I am having withdrawals and have been tempted to log back in but nope, I am going to hand tough, I hear it takes two weeks to break a habit. Oh that is start of one of my short stories…ha ha!!! Yeah, I like seeing my friends and families pictures and hear about milestones and such but this politics and constant reposting of other peoples ideas irks me. I think I just need to take a break π Maybe I can go back after the election. π

Yeah, it’s a great line for a short story. π
It is wise to log out of FB prior to the election. Hoaxes must be circulating these days. π
