Blind Mice

Hello world, I thought I was sad. Sad for America, but no, I am angry and disappointed in what I witnessed yesterday. It is January 7, 2021. The day after the insurrection led by the big cheese. (Actually, it is January 8, 2021). What our children the future of America, witnessed was disgraceful and will take years to cleanse from their eyes. I am a Grandmother, mother, sister, aunt and citizen of the United States. I am free to have an opinion, I am free to walk down the street, I am free to salute the flag or kneel while the Star Spangled Banner plays. As per the Constitution of the United States that was drafted on September 17, 1787 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. What happened and was instigated by the President of United States was treasonous. He encouraged that, make no mistake, defiling the sacred words of the Constitution and his treasonous words that spurred on his followers. It is clear that no amount of wealth can buy an education as the big cheese clearly does not have a grasp of it (Constitution of the United States) or its words, perhaps he did not understand the Oath that he swore to on January 20, 2017. I knew four years ago that bad things were coming but not this. I didn’t go out ranting or posting bullshit on social media about my dismay, well, except here. I may have posted about things that upset me like all the children that were separated from the their families trying to get to our great land. I wrote about how I thought it was a travesty that a man who on video admitted to grabbing humans (!!!) by the pussy and he denigrated women with no regard for the women in his life, his daughters. That’s right, his daughters, what horror must those girls have been subject to? What is worse, the women he was married to that were complicit in his meanderings and such. Even though I would never be friends with those women, they are still women or girls, and in the public spotlight and can influence others because of their celebrity status. Trump women, DO BETTER!!!! I am angry, not sad. However, I did take a day to cool off and think about my words. Today is January 8, 2021 and even though I am still angry, my heart feels lighter as I know that America the beautiful is heading in the right direction. I may not agree with that seditious act, heck I think treason is a more suitable term, but people were exposed for who they are. Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley and those other Republican senators that were trying to thwart democracy. They are public enemy number one and are using our tax dollars as they get paid to represent the very people that voted for them or did they win they senate seats through fraud and deceit? It was not okay for people to storm the capitol, that was not protesting that was coup d’etat not a peaceful protest.

I took this shot in June 2014 with a camera phone.

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”[2]

To any of you that supported what happened, why? How can that be okay with you? For my family members that think that it was justified because of the Black Live Matter protests and foolishly trying to compare the two, you are idiots and I can see why you choose to follow the king of idiots, like blind mice. Please educate yourself before posting crap on social media and then wondering why you got comments that made you seem like the idiot that you are. I stand by what I say and would gladly speak with any of my family members about this but know that they are too afraid to be faced with truth. True friends of mine, would never think that what happened was justified.

If you are still here and reading this, I need a little music and this song is calming even without listening to the lyrics, however, I posted them below. Please press play…

As we watch the children play,
Remember, it was me and you,
So far away,
The things we got out to do.
The fond fear of danger,
That’s what sets us apart,
Couldn’t wait for the real world
To test the strength of the lion’s heart.

Cats like me and you,
Have got laws,
That they adhere to.
Laws outside the laws,
As laid down
By those we don’t subscribe to.
The world is getting stranger.
But we’ll never lose heart.
We can’t just wait for the old guard to die,
Before we can make a new start

.Bring on the revolution,
Keep the pressure on.
I want to die for something.
Bring on the revolution,
I want to die for something, want to die for something.
Bring on the revolution,
I want to die for something. (nothing)
Bring on the revolution,
Don’t wanna die for nothing. (something, something)

For every freedom fighter,
I want to hold on tighter.
To the hope and will you gave
You were the brave, you were the brave.
And one day, when I hear your children sing,
Freedom will ring, Freedom.

When we watch the children play,
Remember how the priviliged classes grew.
And from this day, we set out
To undo what won’t undo.
Looking for the grand in the minute.
Every breath justifies
Every step that we take to remove what the powers that be can’t prove
And the children will understand why.

Bring on the revolution,
Keep the pressure on,
I want to die for something.
Bring on the revolution,
I want to die for something.
Bring on the revolution,
Don’t want to die for nothing.
Bring on the revolution,
I want to die for something.

The words “Don’t want to die for nothing…” It has been reported that five humans died from the events that occurred on that day. Was it worth it? Did that DC police officer that was doing his job deserve to die from injuries that he received during the melee? Blue Live Matter people are you okay with what happened? These people were not fighting for freedom, no that is not what was happening, because freedom means freedom for all not for just the few with the right skin color or ethnicity. That was not a revolution, that was a bunch of spoiled, misled souls. I pray for them…

Anyhow, I fondly remember visiting the Washington, DC in 2014. The photos below are from a trip I took with my best-est friend in the whole wide world, Arlene. She invited me on a trip to Maryland in June 2014. I had been ill and not working as I was going through pain management and various therapies. She paid for the entire trip without ever knowing if I could repay her. I still owe her for that trip as I don’t know how I could ever repay her for that memory as it truly was special! Me, a low-income, single Hispanic mom from Echo Park, California was going to the East coast for the very first time at 44 years of age. I cannot find the disc that has the photos from that trip as I took so many. All I can find are the camera phone shots from the three days that we were there. We almost did not take the drive from Annapolis to the Capitol but so glad that we both decided to do it.

America the beautiful and land of the free…Yes, I still think it is and so do many people that call this place home. We will get through this, I know we can.

To you dear reader, where ever you are, I hope you are safe. May you have time to breathe and reflect on your life and all the goodness and even the not so good. May you find peace and joy because it is there. If I could hug the world, I would. Hugs to you and you and especially you over there that is starting to wake-up for the haze.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the news on YouTube. We had such protest here in Indonesia in 1998 when the university students tried to overthrow a dictator who had ruled our country for 32 years.

Biden is a new hope. And I hope the US–and the world–gets better.

    1. I couldn’t believe it either. It was scary to watch but I was glued to the couch and watched it all happen live on national TV.

Yes, things are going to get better but our country needs to heal and unite. Hopefully, we have not lost to many allies in the world because of the past four years.
