Hello and good day to you, where ever in the world you are. It is January 19, 2021, the day before the Inauguration of Joe Biden as our 46th President and Kamala Harris as our Vice President! Truly, a historic day! A women will be leading in a top position in our great country. Even with all the ugly things that have transpired since the fairest election in history, I have been excited and giddy about this event. I can now say with utmost certainty to my grand daughters, “Yes, you can!” that is right, yes, they can and I am happy that I got to witness this in my lifetime as it is historic no matter what party line you may stand behind. As I have said many times before, “I got through these past four years and you can too.” Four years really does go fast! Just like that, Spotify loaded a great song, with a great lyrics by Salim Nourallah.
Nourallah has been on my radar since last year as I used to see him pop up as a viewer on my personal IG account, that is, until I made my account private. As I have mentioned before, I check out frequent fliers to my account and I will check them out on Youtube and then Pandora or Spotify. This song got me because of the lyrics and the upbeat. It made me want to dance and tap my fingers, so of course I loved it. Thank you, Mr. Nourallah for stopping by (virtually) and I look forward to hearing more from you and your band in the future.
Hubby was home for a few days and it was so needed. The last few months have been rough for all essential workers. Thank you to all of you out there being kind and social distancing and wearing your masks when going into retail stores and such. Thank you for caring for yourself and others. I had a little seasonal ear infection and vertigo that goes along with those. So glad that I have not become one of those numbers. Anyhow, we mostly just stayed around our place. Yesterday, he took me on a drive and we ended up in the Salton Sea. We headed east after we picked up breakfast and headed East toward to rising sun. Hubby and I both spotted the balloon at the same time and I think I yelped in happiness!
We drove toward the balloon as it was just about to lift off. Okay, so I get easily amused and had so much fun trying to capture it by video and random shots. The sky perfect and I secretly wished I could go for a ride in a balloon.
We ended up driving down Highway 111 and drove a little past Bombay Beach but didn’t stop there to explore. It really felt like we were driving along the coast, without a care in the world.
Driving to the Salton Sea is the next best thing, I guess, as the nearest ocean is over 2 hours from here. I day dreamed a bit yesterday. I imagined walking in the water with the shore breaking at my feet. However, I quickly woke up from that when I cracked the window for fresh air and got a huge taste of Salton Sea, yum! We turned onto a road that indicated it was a boat dock just after Bombay Beach. However, that road went on for miles and the water seemed even farther away. We got out so I could snap a few shots.
It was just what we needed. A little change of scenery. I imagined and dreamed about getting a place out there to use as a studio. Pipe dreams. All I know is that I am feeling so much better. Yes, still have those everyday “normal” pain but not feeling so suffocated. Love it! Maybe it is the new changes that are coming in our world. I can honestly say now that I am looking forward to the next four years. I hope the new year or even the next four years give hope as well.
Time to get on with things this morning. Oh yeah, just wanted share my latest thing to keep my hands busy while I am resting my legs, crocheting! I will share a photo of the beanies I made yesterday soon. I forgot how much I love doing it. Now to start working on a blanket or a scarf.
To you dear reader, thank you for stopping by! May your day be full of happy surprises and lots of good stuff. Hugs to you and you and especially YOU!
