The Ghosts of Kelso, a classic rock cover band from the Coachella Valley, was back performing this past weekend at the Tack Room Tavern.
The gig started at 7 PM to a full patio. The last time the Ghosts played there they were set up in a alcove between the Tack Room Restaurant and the Polo Pizza Company. This night, they were back on the Tack Room Patio stage and what a sight. The wall behind them was draped in a large American flag and it made a great back drop.
A few times during their sets, a few couples would get up and dance. It was the best and one of the things I have missed witnessing in the past year. I can’t wait to get back out there on the dance floor.
I had a semi-obstructed view. There were a few dancers that would get into the shot and I worked it in. There was a group of ladies that I could hear sitting behind me saying a few things that they thought I couldn’t hear. I guess they were planning their big photo bomb. Unfortunately, they did it while I was recording video of a song. Their faces I wish I could have captured because they seemed like to teenage mean girls. It was priceless.
If are from the Coachella Valley or are visiting, do stop in at the Tack Room or Polo Pizza. Both restaurants, located in the same parking area at the Empire Polo Fields share a large and lively patio. The staff of both restaurants are friendly and helpful and made the experience that much better. Really, I felt like I was at the local hang out hanging out with old friends.
Below is a little sample of the guys performing.
